CHRISTMAS CARDS

For the third year the Dyer Island Conservation Trust is offering unique Christmas cards to help save the rapidly declining population of African Penguins nesting on the islands of the Western Cape - at the very Southern tip of Africa.

These cards have been specially prepared for the Trust by internationally renowned artist Wendy Robinson.

All proceeds go to the Trust's Faces of Need Programme which provides desperately needed "homes" for breeding penguins in the harsh island environment where natural cover was stripped away by the guano collectors of the 19th and 20th centuries. Pioneered on Dyer Island, our programme of breeding and research has now been extended to the World Heritage site at Robben Island and the other island breeding colonies of the Cape.

There's never been a more important time to help the African Penguin

Numbers of African Penguins are at an all time low. Colonies on some islands have already become extinct. The African Penguin is now classified as VULNERABLE TO EXTINCTION by the International Union for Conservation of Nature.

What you can do to help - Give the penguins a home

The Dyer Island Conservation Trust has already provided > 2000 "homes" for breeding pairs of African Penguins - but thousands more are needed. The Trust is also funding internationally recognised research to fill in vitally important gaps in our knowledge of their breeding habits and feeding patterns.

You can help by purchasing these unique cards now:

A5(210x148mm)= £4.50/ Euros 5.75/ US$9.00/ ZAR70

A6(105x148mm)= £3.50/ Euros 4.50/ US$7.00/ ZAR50

Each packet contains a set of 5 cards

Delivery in South Africa, Europe and the USA is free on all orders >50 cards. For orders < 50 cards ordered in the UK we will charge £3.95 postage fee (US$7.25/ €4.96/ ZAR 58.90) . Each purchase of ZAR 400 (US$50.00/ €35.00/ £28.00) provides another "home" for a breeding pair of penguins and contributes to successful raising of their chicks.
